As part of our Thrive Agenda, we’re proud to support local people having a happy, safe and secure place to live.
Since 2023, we’ve invested £2.2 million into our affordable homes programme which is thought to be a unique initiative in the country. We’ve purchased a total of seven homes that will be allocated on an affordable rent basis to those most in need in our community.

NEW! More local families to benefit from our latest million pound investment into new homes in the local area
We’ve invested £1.1 million into four new homes at Wellington Place off Leicester Road to help those most in need to have a place to call home as part of our ongoing commitment to support local people to have a happy, safe and secure place to live. This is on top of three homes we bought in Lutterworth in 2022.

January 2023: Local families in need benefit from affordable homes investment
As part of our new initiative to help local families in need, we’ve invested in our first three homes at a new housing development in Lutterworth in the Harborough District.
We met with Local MP Alberto Costa and Platform Housing Group to discuss the project and its impact within the local community. Mr Costa said, “This is a wonderful initiative from Market Harborough Building Society in providing more excellent quality affordable homes for local people, and I am hugely grateful to them and to Platform who will be overseeing their future use.” Read more here.
