We're investing in a better branch for Market Harborough

Our Market Harborough branch is temporarily closing while we refurbish the branch and create flats above it. The refurbishment will provide a more modern, open-plan branch environment, improved facilities and a space for community events. This is a temporary closure and we remain fully committed to serving members in Market Harborough.

Our Market Harborough Branch will close at the end of business on Saturday 17 October. During the temporary closure, members can visit us at our Head office Newcombe House pop up branch from Monday 19 October. We will re-open our newly refurbished Market Harborough Branch on Tuesday 17 November.

While Market Harborough Branch is closed, our branch team will be based at our Head office Newcombe House. You will continue to receive the same service from the same team, just from a temporary location.

No. The temporary branch at our Head Office Newcombe House will operate the same opening hours as Market Harborough Branch.

Yes. We will continue to offer the full range of  branch services from our Head Office Newcombe House during the temporary closure. There will be a limited service from Thursday 12 to Monday 16 November while we move some essential equipment back to Market Harborough Branch, and we will let members know in advance where this may affect appointments or services.

No. Your accounts, rates, standing arrangements and passbook are unaffected, and you do not need to take any action.

Yes. Our Head Office Newcombe House is accessible while we operate the temporary branch from there. If you have any specific access needs, please contact the branch team/Savings Team on customersfirst@mhbs.co.uk or call us on 01858 412412 so we can support your visit.

Yes. The refurbished Market Harborough Branch will include a new ground-level access door via the rear courtyard for members who require step-free access. The branch will also have a much larger open-plan layout, providing more space to move around and a more personal face-to-face service through the new counter pods.

Yes. Member toilet facilities will be available when Market Harborough Branch re-opens.

A free minibus service will run throughout the temporary closure. See bus times here. 

Yes. There are plenty of free parking spaces at Newcombe House which will be ring-fenced for members during the temporary branch arrangements.

Yes. The refurbishment will provide a more modern, open-plan branch environment, improved facilities and a space for community events whilst some of the original features will be retained.

Not a full refurbishment, but we are looking at ways to give our other branches a freshen up too. Plans are already in progress, and we’ll share more information as this develops.

Flats are being created above Market Harborough Branch and are expected to be available from 4 January 2027. Further information, including ballot details, terms and viewings, will be shared when available.
