Our First £1,000 Prize Draw Donation Goes to Marlow House

Marlow house in Desborough is the first local charity to receive a £1,000 donation through our new monthly prize draw.

This donation was made possible thanks to one of our members, who nominated Marlow House after being randomly selected in our prize draw. It’s a fantastic example of how our members are directly helping us support the causes that matter most in our communities.

A New Way to Save and Support Local Causes

This is just the beginning. Each month, one of our customers will be chosen at random to nominate a local charity to receive £1,000. It’s all part of our commitment to our Thrive! Agenda — a long-term promise to put people and communities first.

As Annie Cossar, our Chief Customer Officer, put it:

“This prize draw is about giving our customers the chance to support the charities they care about most. It’s thanks to one of our members that this first £1,000 donation is going to a brilliant local cause, Marlow House. It’s a great example of how saving with us can help your community thrive, and we’re excited to see which charity our customers choose next.”

Supporting a Charity That Supports So Many

Marlow House is a day care centre that provides vital services to people in Rothwell, Desborough, and surrounding villages. From weekday care and meal deliveries to transport and wellbeing support, they’re making a real difference in people’s lives.

Diane White, Centre Manager at Marlow House, shared:

“We’re incredibly grateful for this support. It’s heartening to know that our work resonates with the community and that we’ve left an impression on the winning customer so that they nominated us. This £1,000 will make a real difference. Whilst we already have a range of games and activities that our clients enjoy, we want to expand what we offer — and this donation will help us do just that.”

We were proud to present the donation during Marlow House’s relaunch event on 17 July, held at their Gold Street premises in Desborough.

Celebrating 250 Years of Mutual Support

This initiative is just one of the ways we’re marking 250 years of the building society movement in 2025. We’re proud to celebrate this milestone by giving back — and by putting our members and communities at the heart of everything we do.

The next prize draw winner will be announced later this month.
