Save with us and support your community
We’re proud to support the launch of the Bell Street Community Hub with a £60,000 donation to Leicester South Foodbank.
Leicester South Foodbank (LSFB) proudly launched the Bell Street Community Hub this week, a dynamic space designed to enhance well-being and purpose within our local community.
This innovative project responds directly to the expressed needs of residents for face-to-face interactions and accessible local services, which aligns with the Society’s commitment to supporting our heartland.
Key features Bell Street Community Hub?
Multi-agency space: Hosting a variety of organisations to provide comprehensive support.
Flexible weekly schedule: Offering workshops, events, and activities tailored to community interests.
One-on-one support and advice services: Personalized assistance to address individual needs.
Relaxed environment: Encouraging community engagement and fostering connections.
Bell Street will serve as a vibrant ‘community expo,’ showcasing diverse interventions and services from multiple organisations. This approach allows residents to explore and connect with various resources all in one place, tailored to the evolving needs of the community.
How has MHBS supported the community hub?
We worked together with our longstanding charity partner Leicester South Foodbank to help establish them in their new home in Wigston by dismantling unused furniture and other redundant equipment from our old office in Market Harborough and installing it in the Hub’s new premises.
“With the support from Market Harborough Building Society, the work of the team in getting us established in our new home has been amazing. They have gone far beyond what was expected, and we are so grateful,” said Bruce Harrison of Leicester South Foodbank.
Annie Cossar, Chief Customer Officer at MHBS and Trustee of Leicester South Foodbank, commented, “The partnership between MHBS and Leicester South Foodbank is close to my heart. I am proud to see this partnership grow and help impact our local community in new ways.”
How will Bell street community hub support the community?
The new Community Hub is set to become a cornerstone of community engagement, offering a welcoming space for residents to access vital services and build meaningful connections.
The recent project at Bell Street Community Hub exemplifies the Society’s Thrive agenda by investing in key community initiatives and re-purposing old stock to benefit our charity partners, showcasing our continued commitment to the community and sustainability.
We look forward to see it transforms our local community – Together we Thrive
