Supporting Leicestershire Cares
We’ve joined four other local Leicestershire building societies – the Melton, Loughborough, Earl Shilton, and Hinckley & Rugby to donate £10,000 to Leicestershire Cares. This donation is to help people in need, especially during the Coronavirus crisis. Leicestershire Cares is a leading charity which supports local businesses, schools, young people, ex-offenders and community groups.
“Market Harborough Building society is very happy to work to help Leicestershire Cares who do such a great job supporting our Leicestershire communities. Covid-19 has created new challenges for many and building societies have always put local members at the heart of what we do.” says Mark Robinson, Chief Executive, Market Harborough Building Society.
“All Leicestershire’s Societies have worked through World Wars and global crises and are well placed to help and support our customers through Covid-19” says Gary Brebner CEO at Loughborough Building Society.
“This generous donation from our local building societies is a great example of how we can work together to support those in need during the current crisis,” says Kieran Breen, Chief Executive, Leicestershire Cares. “We are committed to working in partnership with business, the community and government to tackle and beat this crisis.”
Building Societies are considered an essential service and our branches have remained open to serve savings and mortgage customers during the pandemic, albeit with reduced hours to protect the health of customers and staff.
Leicestershire Cares is a great charity which helps so many people. We hope the £10,000 will help them to continue to do the great work they already do for our community.
